You may have seen our recent post warning against phishing scams targeting the banking industry. Well, this scam is doing the rounds again and is currently being targeted by offenders using bank branded phishing emails to lure customers into clicking on fraudulent links.
The phishing email shown in the picture below has been sent under the guise of a BNZ Banking Message Notification that can be viewed via Internet Banking by clicking on the View Message link.
This email has not come from us. It’s a fraudulent attempt to obtain your Internet Banking access numbers, passwords and NetGuard coordinates, so please do not click on the View Message link.
Instead, forward the email to BNZAbuse@bnz.co.nz and delete it.
Always remember, we will never ask you to disclose confidential banking or personal details.
If you think you’ve been caught up in a phishing scam, or if you’ve provided personal and/or banking details to someone either via telephone, email, text or by clicking on a link, please call us straight away on 0800 ASK BNZ (275 269) and ask to speak to the Financial Crime Management Centre.
