Payment made to wrong suffix

Hi, a payment was made to me but they used the wrong suffix.

I checked my account suffixes and no money had turned up.

I spoke to the payer and they assured me that the money has not bounced back. It has been 9 days since the payment was made.

I rang BNZ but they said the the money would either turn up into one of my suffixes or bounce back. Neither of which has happened.

This has happened to me before and the money was never received by either parties.

What is the payee to do when both parties “BNZ & Payer” both lay blame to each other and refuse to help.
