It’s Cyber Smart Week
Today is the first day of Cyber Smart Week! Cyber attacks happen often. They don’t necessarily target a specific person but usually look for easy ways to gain access to your personal information or money. It’s not just large organisations that fall victim to cyber attacks either, small businesses and everyday New Zealanders can be affected too. Here are four ways that can help prevent you or your business from being affected by a cyber attack:
- Use a password manager
- Turn on two-factor authentication
- Update your devices
- Check your privacy settings.
For more information on the above, as well as how to report an online incident, visit CERT NZ’s website https://www.cert.govt.nz/cybersmart/. If you have any questions regarding cyber security, or you’re concerned you may have fallen victim to a scam, please contact us immediately on 0800 ASK BNZ (275 269) or +64 4 924 0499.
