Fraudulent VISA transactions

#1

When my wife needed an ESTA for travel to/via the USA, the official ESTA-webpage was down. So we decided to use one that looked exactly like the official one - and claimed to be run by government. They took 100NZD
(it’'s 14USD on the official site) out of the VISA-account and promised to pass it on.

A bit of research (whois…) discovered that the webpage was registered in the Isle of Man (definitely not part
of the US). The company didn’t reply to any emails. The BNZ managed to get the money back from their
bank as the crooks understandably were not keen to enter into any (email) correspondence.

Good on you BNZ.
